NYC

Today's my last day of work. Had my last supper of sushi with my coworkers and they're taking me out for drinks tonight. I kinda feel bad because I kinda mentally left a week ago. lol.

I have a feeling I won't be working in NY for awhile as I plan to go to Korea before going to Maryland for grad school next June. I can certainly live without some nuances in NY but there will be many more things that I will miss. Looking back on the last seven years, I know I do <3 NY!

A look back::

I’ve come to appreciate working in different places – the financial district, Madison ave, and working in garment district.

I think I enjoyed working midtown on Madison ave the most. The shopping is great, lots of stuff going on year round by Rockefeller center, good restaurants. Lots to do at night..

Financial district was cool too – it’s old school and  I think the energy and buzz of money is more tangible there. I liked working in the WFC – they have events in the atrium, and I love the water by it but there’s nothing at night. It’s a shame what happened to the twin towers…I miss it…going outside for lunch and listening to live music, shopping underground and everything. After 9/11, events like the orchid show left and went to other places like midtown…

Where I work now – there’s way too many tourists b/c of Penn station, Madison Square Garden and Empire State building. And no offense but the type of people here are just kinda sleazy here. I have never gotten so many sleazy catcalls in my life.  Shopping is not great – I mean the best stores are like Zara, BR, Gap, Forever 21 and H&M, typical chain stores. But I love working by k-town…I did my k food grocery shopping there and rented my korean movies.

But I’m more happy to not work for awhile….and I’m definitely excited about going to cali!

Tired Tuesday...

Still hurtin from the weekend but it was a good weekend.

YM turned 30...after pigging out at Palisadium we went to Yolato's which was really good.
(get the hazelnut gelato. the best...) The photo hunt game there is pretty addicting and they have wifi which are little bonuses...

and i went PAINTBALLING at some place called Skirmish in PA. It was an experience. I was more like an amused observer than a combatant b/c i didn't know what to expect. It was a different culture...such a guy thing...kinda like when I'm trying to understand wth is so funny with the Chuck Norris jokes.  The whole premise is goofy b/c it's so serious. The idea of being out after you get hit once didn't appeal to me. So I usually played cautiously but that gets boring. Because I played so defensively I hardly used any bullets lol. I maybe shot like 10 rounds during some games...but in the last game when you can get hit unlimited times and you're only out when you give up/run out of bullets appealed to me the most. That was the most fun game to me. The other games were fun but it was hard to know what was going on sometimes; it was hard to tell who had the flag or what not.

I did get a couple bruises on my arms from the paintballs. It stings but it's not too bad. My worst injury was non-combatant related...i tripped over a boundary line that was on the ground (Usually they're waist high) So i'm still kind of limping. I knew it wouldn't be a complete weekend outdoors until i did something  like that.

In other news, I'm abnormally full from this egg and ham sandwich which is disconcerting to me b/c i can usually eat a bowl of cereal after i eat a breakfast sandwich. I think i'm losing my capability to eat a lot. =\

This is madness. This is...Sparta!
